To do good or to do evil?

Mark 3:4

Then Jesus asked them, ” Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.

Jesus had a strong desire to serve the people. He wasn’t ashamed of God. Instead, He went and healed the man with a shriveled hand despite knowing that there were people who are trying to persecute Him.

Jesus Called us to love the people. By loving, we should express it with our actions. For example, serving just like Jesus did.

Dear God, teach me to serve others and not be afraid to different or afraid to be persecuted or condemned by others but rather be like Jesus who served others in Your love. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Bitter gourt, yuck.

S: Hebrews 12:14-15

O: God wants us to make effort to live in peace with everyone! We must see to it that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble too.

A: I think it’s really hard to do that cause we live in a world with all kinds of humans. There are people who get on our nerves and bitterness grows in our hearts towards that particular person.

Like today, I accidentally hit someone’s carton of drink and it dropped on the floor (thank God it was empty). I apologized but she just stared at the carton and slowly picked it up, ignoring me. Ugh, so rude right? Now do you get my point? It’s hard!

What’s needed here is forgiveness. When people make mistakes, we must learn to forgive to avoid any conflicts or whatsoever. Also, accepting one another for who they are is important. Get rid of every bitterness we hold against our friends by talking it out.

The best solution is to have a heart-to-heart talk with them about what attitude needs to be changed. In a way, we’re helping our friend become a better person! But it’s a pretty scary move though :/

R: Dear Father, please help me to forgive those who have made me pissed or feel hurt. I don’t wanna secretly hold things against my friends. Take away every bitterness in my heart, Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

To Accept Others.

Heyho everyone! :D

1 Timothy 5:1-2:

“Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brother and younger women as sisters with absolute purity.”

It says that we are to love the people around us, not rebuke. Accept and not judge. Love and not hate. People tend treat others differently based on different reasons. But Jesus treated everyone the same, with love.

I have been judgmental and I definitely have been treating people differently by acting the way my flesh wants. But now, I have to change that, I have to treat others with love and in that way, I too can be loved by others and most of all, be more like Christ. 1 John 4:19, ” We love because He first loved us.”

Dear God, I pray that you teach me to love, not just love the people I like, not just my family, not just my friends but also the people who I do not know, the people who made me angry, the people who had condemned me, people who I have been judgmental about, the people I dislike. I ask God that you change me so that I may love ALL and not just a few because You are the loving God. And it is because You love me, therefore I want others to see Your love by me loving them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A broken heart and a contrite spirit.

AILEEN SAYS HELLOOO.

I still don’t get why people like WATER TUMBLR! So confusing lahh. Anyway, DUMC’s having this 21 days of fast and pray thingo. The girl who loves to eat (yours truly) is fasting! I couldn’t make it for morning prayer today but Eelaine told me to read Psalms 51. Here’s my end product! :)

S: Ps 51:16-17

O: God doesn’t want burnt sacrifices. He wants a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart! Hmm. I’ve sang worship songs with lyrics that goes something like.. My heart broken to you.. But what does a broken and contrite heart really mean? Obviously not the lovey dovey </3 right? Ahaks!

So, I flipped to 1 Sa 15:22. Samuel says obeying God is wayyy better than a burnt offering, which relates to the word I got from Isa 1:11-20; God wants us to be willing and obedient!

I googled broken heart and a contrite spirit and found a sentence, “Those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit are willing to do anything and everything that God asks of them.” Also, I looked up the definitions of the following words on Thesaurus..

Contrite = Repentant

Broken = Humble

A potter once molded soft clay into a beautiful statue. Unfortunately, the clay cracked when it dried, leaving many weaknesses and flaws in the statue. The potter tried unsuccessfully to fill the cracks with new clay and to correct the flaws in he hardened clay. Despite his best efforts, he could not restore the beauty and grace of the original statue.

He did the only thing that can be done to hardened, cracked, and imperfect clay. He broke the statue with a hammer, pounded the hardened clay into dust, added fresh water, and began shaping a new statue.

Got the story’s from Google too! Heh :D

God wants us to be humble cause if we’re hidung tinggi (HIGH NOSE! AHAHA), we won’t wanna admit when we’re wrong thanks to pride. How are we gonna learn from our mistakes then? We must be repentant and say sorry when we sin too! You see, a broken heart and a contrite spirit are needed in order to let God shape us into a better human!

A: Can you imagine doing ANYTHING and EVERYTHING God asks us to? ._. Today, nine of us shared our new year’s resolutions and my main goal is to go all out for God! I think God’s hinting that I need a broken heart and a contrite spirit to achieve it. Being obedient’s hard weih! No matter how tempting it is to rebel and bergoyang kaki, I’ll work on it.

R: Dear God, I WANT TO BE BROKEN FOR YOU! Please give me obedience and help me stick to my resolutions. I’m sososo sorry for the wrong I’ve done :( I pray that those who are fasting throughout the 21 days will have a stronger prayer life and grow spiritually! In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
